Pushing out the peninsula another 4' and adding an island created a perfect cook's kitchen, with endless storage, an efficient work triangle, 4 separate prep areas, a separate drink refrigerator as well as a sub-zero, a baking center, and a desk and bookcase. The glass-fronted cabinet for glassware set at counter height over the peninsula created almost as much usable upper cab storage as was available in the entire former kitchen.
